NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 3, 2008: The following Ordinances: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO, ADOPTING THE 2008 ASSET MANAGEMENT PLAN Ordinance No. _____- 2008 RECITALS 1. Article XIV of the Colorado Constitution and Title 30 of the Colorado Revised Statutes charge the Board of County Commissioners with responsibility for advancing the public health, safety, convenience, and welfare of the citizens of Pitkin County. The Board carries out this responsibility by, among other things, providing public infrastructure such as roads, public safety improvements, recreational improvements, and sanitary improvements. 2. It is the objective of Public Works Staff to update the Pitkin County Asset Management Plan (AMP) every two years to ensure consistency and accuracy. The Board of County Commissioners adopted the last AMP revision in 2006. 3. Adoption of the AMP is necessary to promote the health safety and welfare of Pitkin County residents and visitors, to provide consistency of County standards and to set maintenance expectations for County residents and visitors. 4. The Board of County Commissioners has the authority to adopt the AMP under Colorado statutory and constitutional law including, but not limited to, the provisions of the Colorado Revised Statutes, Title 30, Articles 11 15, and 35, and Title 42, Article 4. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners that: 1. The 2008 Pitkin County Asset Management Plan is hereby approved and adopted. 2. Upon the effective date of this Ordinance, the 2006 Pitkin County Asset Management Plan is no longer in effect. 3. Copies of the Plan shall be retained at the Public Works Office, the Pitkin County Clerks Office and shall be available on Pitkin County's website. The AMP shall be available for review or purchase by any member of the public. 4. The enactment of this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety or welfare, and it shall therefore be effective upon adoption. PUBLIC NOTICE RE: SIX MONTH EXTENSION TO THE MORATORIUM ENACTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 51, SERIES OF 2006 REGARDING COMMERCIAL CORE BUSINESS MIX AND HISTORIC INTERIORS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008, at a meeting of the Aspen City Council, which is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 130 S. Galena, Aspen, Colorado, to consider a six-month extension to the "Commercial Core Business Mix and Historic Interiors" moratorium adopted under Ordinance No. 51, Series 2006, as amended. Ordinance No. 51 established a temporary moratorium on the issuance of building permits in the Commercial Core Zone District and was adopted on December 12, 2006 for a six-month period originally scheduled to expire on June 12, 2007.
